Student Mentoring Schemes

The University runs several mentoring schemes for students in addition to those offered by individual Schools and Societies.

• Incoming Undergraduate Mentoring

  This scheme is open to all new undergraduates joining the university.

  After confirming their place at St Andrews (this may be after exam results are received), new students will an receive an invitation to take part. We aim to pair new students with a current student who is studying the same subject as them.

• BAME Mentoring

  This scheme is run in partnership with the BAME Student Network. It opens each semester and all self-identifying BAME students are welcome to join.  

• St Leonard’s Community Scheme

  This community-building scheme for PG students was introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic to help students make the most of their time at St Andrews by linking them with their peers.

  The St Leonard’s Community Scheme will be replaced by alternative initiatives for PG students in AY 2025/26.
